About me
Tamara Hamilton is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 30 years of experience in behavioral health. For the past 13 years, she has focused on issues affecting children's well-being, with a particular emphasis on integrating social and emotional learning and executive functioning into academic curricula. In 2024, she joined the Lovett School in Atlanta, GA, as the middle school executive functioning specialist.
Tamara is the founder of The Happiness Institute, where she offers consultation services, school workshops, EF coaching, and professional development programs, including the Executive Function Certificate Training (EFCT) and Advanced Motivational Interviewing.
Tamara earned her Master’s Degree from the Indiana University School of Social Work, and she holds a graduate certificate in Mind, Brain, and Teaching from the School of Education at Johns Hopkins University. Tamara has been accepted to join the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and will complete the MINT Training New Trainers (TNT) in October 2026. As an improv actress, Tamara is passionate about bringing joy and humor to learning and is the director of an improv program for neurodivergent youth and teens. When she is not at school, you will likely find her on the stage at Whole World Improv Theatre in Atlanta.
