About me
Katharine March Halsey is an educational leader and social worker with more than 15 years of experience leading independent, therapeutic, and innovation-focused school communities. She specializes in building student-centered environments that support adolescent well-being, executive functioning, and social-emotional development, particularly for students with complex learning, mental health, and neurodiverse needs.
Throughout her career, Katharine has held senior leadership roles including dean of students, head of well-being and residential life, and assistant head of upper school, where she has led strategic initiatives in student support, faculty development, DEIB, accreditation, enrollment, and organizational growth. Known for her calm, relational leadership style, she partners effectively with boards, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen school culture while advancing institutional goals.
Katharine currently serves as an executive search consultant with 12M Recruiting and as an education advisor to OPAL, supporting mission-driven organizations through leadership development, talent strategy, and adolescent wellbeing initiatives. She holds a Master of Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University and is deeply committed to creating educational environments where young people can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
